Bought tires online? Bring them in — we mount and balance customer-supplied tires without the attitude. Don't have tires yet? Call with your size and we'll order you a set. Either way you get computer wheel balancing, new valve stems, lugs torqued to spec, and your old tires hauled away.

Yes. Bring them in and we'll put them on. A lot of shops quietly refuse tires you bought somewhere else, because they make their money selling you theirs. We don't work that way — if you found a deal online, that's your win, not something we need to take back from you.
Tire Rack, Amazon, Discount Tire Direct, SimpleTire, a warehouse club order, or a set that's been sitting in your garage since last winter — we'll mount them, balance them, fit new valve stems, torque your wheels to spec and dispose of the old set.

We don't keep a warehouse of rubber on site, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What we do is order tires in for you at a competitive price — you call once, we quote your size, and the tires and the installation happen in one stop.
Read us the numbers off your sidewall, or just give us your year, make and model and we'll look it up.
We price the set and the installation together, so the number you hear is the number you pay.
Tires ordered in, mounted, balanced and torqued — with the old set taken off your hands.

Six things happen to every wheel that comes through here. None of them are an upsell — they're the job.
Old tire broken down off the rim and the new one seated, on a machine with helper arms so your wheel finish isn't fought with a pry bar.
Every tire we mount goes on the balancer and gets weighted until it spins true. This is what kills the vibration you feel at freeway speed.
Your tire pressure sensors are worked around carefully during the swap, and we tell you straight if a sensor or service kit is failing.
Rubber valve stems are a few dollars and the most common slow-leak culprit on an otherwise good tire. We replace them with the tire.
Lug nuts brought up in a star pattern to your manufacturer's torque spec — not hammered on with an impact gun and hoped for.
We take the old tires off your hands and handle disposal, so you're not driving home with four worn tires in your back seat.
Real reviews from local drivers.

No tire and wheel assembly leaves the factory perfectly even in weight. Balancing spins your wheel on a machine, finds the heavy spot, and adds small weights opposite it until it runs true. An ounce out of balance doesn't sound like much — at 65 mph it's a wheel slapping the pavement dozens of times a second, and you feel every bit of it.
The classic sign of a front tire out of balance. It shows up in a speed range, gets worse as you approach it, and smooths out above or below it.
When you feel it through your seat instead of your hands, the imbalance is usually in the rear. Same fix, different end of the car.
Dips worn into the tread at regular intervals mean the tire has been bouncing down the road. Balancing stops it getting worse.
One hard hit can throw a wheel weight off the rim. If the vibration has a start date, that's usually the reason.
A new set that vibrates was not balanced properly, or the weights came off. Bring it in and we'll put each wheel on the balancer.
Out-of-balance tires wear faster and unevenly, which costs you far more than the balancing would have.
We use computer (dynamic) balancing, which resolves the large majority of vibration complaints. We do not offer road-force balancing, and we'd rather say that here than have you find out at the counter. If your vibration survives a proper balance, the problem is usually in the tire itself, a bent wheel, or a suspension component — and we'll tell you which, instead of selling you another balance.
Five steps, whether you brought the tires or we ordered them.
We confirm the tire size against what's on your door jamb and on the sidewall, so nothing gets mounted that shouldn't be.
Vehicle lifted, wheels removed, and a look at the brakes and suspension while everything is exposed. We'll tell you what we see.
Old tire broken down and off, rim cleaned at the bead seat, new tire mounted and seated with a fresh valve stem.
Each wheel spun on the balancer and weighted until the readout is right. Nothing goes back on the car unbalanced.
Wheels back on, lugs torqued to spec in a star pattern, pressures set to the door-jamb number, old tires hauled away.
They get bundled together so often that most drivers think they're the same service. They're not.
Corrects uneven weight within one tire and wheel so it spins true. You need it when a new tire is mounted, or when you feel a vibration at freeway speed.
You're on the right pageMoves tires you already own to different corners of the car so they wear evenly. Routine maintenance, usually every 5,000 to 7,500 miles.
See our tire rotation servicePlenty of cars need both, and we do both. If you're not sure which one your car is asking for, describe the symptom on the phone and we'll tell you — even if the answer is "neither."
Nearly four decades on Fremont Blvd, ASE-certified technicians, and no argument about where you bought your tires.
Plenty of shops refuse customer-supplied tires because they'd rather sell you their own. Bring us the set from Tire Rack, Amazon, Discount Tire Direct or wherever you found the deal — we'll put them on.
No tires yet and no interest in shopping? Call with your size and we'll get you a quote on a new set and order them in. One stop instead of two.
Every tire we install is balanced on the machine. It's part of the job here, not a line item someone forgot to run.
You came for tires. If we spot a brake or suspension issue while the wheels are off we'll show you and let you decide — no scare tactics, same as the last four decades.
Same family shop on Fremont Blvd since 1986. The people mounting your tires are the people you'll talk to at the counter.
Call with your tire size and what you're having done and you'll get a real number up front — not a surprise at pickup.
A tire changer with dual helper arms and a computer wheel balancer, in our own bay on Fremont Blvd — not sent out to a third party down the street.

Dual helper arms and a pneumatic bead breaker mean your tire comes off the rim under controlled pressure instead of being levered off. That matters most on alloy wheels, where a rushed dismount leaves marks you can't polish out.

Each wheel is spun under its own hood and measured, then weighted on the inner and outer planes until the readout zeroes. It's the difference between a set of tires that rides smooth at 70 and one that buzzes the whole way to Sacramento.
Straight answers on your own tires, pricing, balancing and what we will and won't do.
Yes. We mount and balance customer-supplied tires, and we do it all the time. Buy them from Tire Rack, Amazon, Discount Tire Direct, a warehouse club, or a set you already have in the garage — bring the tires and the vehicle to 37271 Fremont Blvd and we'll install them. Call (510) 797-0511 with your tire size first so we can quote you and plan the bay.
Both. We don't keep a warehouse of tires on site, so we order them in for you rather than pointing at a rack. Call with your year, make, model and tire size and we'll quote you on a new set. If you'd rather buy your own online and just have them installed, that's fine with us too — we charge for the installation either way, and we won't push you toward one or the other.
It depends on the wheel — rim diameter, whether it has TPMS sensors, whether it's a run-flat, and whether you need new valve stems or a sensor service kit. That's why we don't post one number: the shops that advertise a rock-bottom install price are quoting the simplest possible steel wheel, and almost nobody drives that. Call (510) 797-0511 with your tire size (it's on the sidewall, like 225/65R17) and you'll get a real quote in a minute.
No tire and wheel assembly is perfectly even in weight. Balancing spins the wheel on a machine to find the heavy spot, then adds small weights on the opposite side until it spins true. Skip it and that imbalance turns into a vibration at freeway speed, faster and uneven tread wear, and extra load on your wheel bearings and suspension. It's a small step that protects a set of tires you just paid for.
The giveaway is a vibration that appears in a speed range, usually 55 to 70 mph, and smooths out above and below it. If you feel it in the steering wheel, it's typically a front tire; if you feel it through your seat, it's usually a rear. Cupped or scalloped tread wear and a shake that started right after a pothole are the other two common signs. If any of that sounds like your car, we can put each wheel on the balancer and tell you exactly which one is off.
Yes. Balancing is part of the installation here, not an add-on we hope you say yes to. Every tire we mount goes on the balancer before it goes back on your car.
No, and we'd rather tell you that up front than let you find out. We use computer (dynamic) balancing, which is what the large majority of vibration problems need and what most shops in the area are running. Road-force balancing uses a machine that presses a loaded roller against the tire to find stiffness variation in the tire itself, and it's worth seeking out for a stubborn vibration that ordinary balancing can't resolve. If we balance your wheels and the vibration is still there, we'll say so and point you in the right direction instead of charging you to try again.
Often, but call first with your wheel size rather than driving over and hoping. Our tire changer handles most passenger car, crossover and SUV wheels comfortably. Very stiff run-flat sidewalls and some large-diameter low-profile setups are harder on both the tire and the rim, and if yours is one we shouldn't force, we'll tell you honestly instead of risking your wheel.
We work around the sensors carefully when the tire comes off the rim — that's the moment they most often get damaged at a rushed shop. If a sensor is already dead or its service kit (the grommet, nut and core that seal it) is corroded, we'll show you before we put it back together. Note that after a tire change some vehicles need a short relearn drive or a scan-tool reset before the dashboard light clears.
Yes, we handle disposal so you're not hauling four worn tires home. California charges a state recycling fee on tire disposal, so ask when you call and we'll include it in your quote rather than surprising you with it at the counter.
Far longer than our 10-minute oil change, and less time than most people expect — it depends on the vehicle, the wheels, and how busy the bays are that day. Call (510) 797-0511 before you come and we'll give you a realistic window for that day rather than a number off a poster.
Walk-ins are welcome 7 days a week, but a full set of four ties up a bay for a while, so calling ahead is genuinely worth it. Call (510) 797-0511 or schedule online and we'll have time set aside when you arrive.
Rotation moves your tires to different corners of the car so they wear evenly; balancing corrects weight distribution within one tire and wheel so it doesn't vibrate. Rotation is routine maintenance on tires you already own, usually every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. Balancing is what you need when there's a vibration, or when a new tire is being mounted. Plenty of cars need both, and we do both.
If the other tires still have healthy tread, two is often fine — and new tires belong on the rear axle for stability, even on a front-wheel-drive car. All-wheel-drive is the exception: most AWD manufacturers want all four within a small tread-depth difference, because a mismatch makes the drivetrain fight itself. Bring the car in and we'll measure your tread depth and tell you what your vehicle actually calls for.
Read us the size off your sidewall and we'll quote you — installation only, or tires and installation together.
