The PitStop Fremont(“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides auto repair and maintenance services in Fremont and the surrounding Bay Area. This page explains what we collect when you request an appointment or estimate, how it’s used, and how to get it deleted. Using this site or contacting us means you’re fine with what’s described here.
What we collect
Only what you hand us. There are no user accounts on this site, nothing is sold through it, and we don’t keep a customer database here.
- What you type into a form. Your name, phone number, email, vehicle details (year, make, model), and whatever you write in the message field, whether that’s the contact form or the schedule-appointment form.
- What you tell us on the phone. If you call or email, we have whatever you chose to say.
- Ordinary site usage data. Like most sites, ours records limited technical information through analytics and advertising tools. See below.
What we do with it
We use what you send to:
- Answer your question or estimate request;
- Book, confirm, and schedule your appointment;
- Follow up about service we’ve already done; and
- Understand how people use this site and our ads.
We don’t sell, rent, or trade your information. The PitStop does not send spam emails, marketing emails, or build mailing lists. Your information is used to help schedule and manage your appointment — nothing else.
Where your form goes
The contact and appointment forms on this site are handled by Netlify Forms — Netlify processes the submission and delivers it by email to our business inbox. Right now that’s a Gmail address we check directly; there’s no separate database or CRM behind it. Your request then lives in our inbox like any other email until we act on it.
Hosting
This site is hosted on Netlify. Delivering it means Netlify handles limited technical data — IP addresses and request logs — for security and performance, under its own privacy practices.
Analytics, ads, and cookies
We run Google’s site tag (Google Analytics / GA4) to see which pages get visited and how people find us, and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure when a call or a form submission came from one of our ads. These use cookies and similar technologies to collect things like approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you visited, and whether an ad led to a call or a booking. We look at this in aggregate; Google’s own privacy practices govern it.
You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and Google publishes an opt-out for Analytics. Turning cookies off won’t stop you from booking an appointment or reaching us.
Who builds and maintains this site
This site is designed, developed, and maintained by Lokalume, a web development and digital marketing agency. Lokalume builds and supports our website, hosting, analytics, and advertising systems, and administers the configuration that routes your form submissions to our inbox. It works as our service provider, under our direction, and does not use your information for its own purposes.
Third parties we rely on
A short list: Netlify for hosting and form delivery, Google for analytics and ad conversion tracking, and Lokalume, the web development and digital marketing agency that builds and maintains this site and manages our Google Ads. Each of these handles data only to do its job, under its own policy, and none of them use your information for their own purposes. This site may also link out to places we don’t run — Google Maps, Yelp, Patch, our social pages — and we’re not responsible for how those handle your information.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect what you send. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, though, and we can’t promise otherwise. Don’t send card numbers, Social Security numbers, or anything similar through a form or by email. We’ll never ask for them there.
How long we keep it
Right now, your request sits in our email as long as we reasonably need it to schedule, service, and follow up on your appointment, or to meet a legal or business obligation. We don’t yet have an automated deletion process — ask us to delete your correspondence and we will.
Your choices
Write to us and you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or tell us to stop contacting you. California residents have further rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. We don’t sell personal information, so there’s nothing to opt out of on that front. Make any request using the details below and we won’t treat you differently for it.
Children
This site is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect anything from children under 13. If you think a child sent us something, get in touch and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes we’ll revise the “last updated” date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means the new version applies.
